I just finished off a bomber of this clone! Yes...I'm lucky enough to know BrewerMan personally and he gave me a bottle as a going away gift. This was a very strong effort. I poured mine in a 20oz pint glass and enjoyed. The head was rich and thick. The aroma was malty with a nice punch of hops and the drinkability was smooth, nutty, with a hint licorace. Overall a well balanced brown that stands up to the best of them. Well done Brewerman and thanks ;)

I've got a buddy sending me one of those. Can't wait to put that one down. There's got to be a take on that out there somewhere.

linds,
Yes ... I work with one of the owners on The Blacksmith's beer selections. We have a wish list that we're working on with our distributors. While 3F's Dark Lord is on there, I wouldn't hold my breath for it to show up at the Blacksmith any time soon. Being able to get high-quality craft beer from the Midwest is a tall order right now. Most of it has to do with supply and complications around beer distribution. Small breweries like Three Floyds have to feed the masses in their own back yard first, so the locals get a good chunk of the product. This is why a lot of Midwesterners were so jealous of how relatively easy it was for us on the West Coast to get this last realease of The Abyss. As I understand it, Three Floyds is currently only distributing to Indiana & Illinois. If this changes, or if I know of someone moving from Indiana, I'll be sure to make an order and shout it from the rooftops.

Wow... What a place... I was in Eugene Oregon, because my father was having By-Pass surgery. I asked one of the nurses where I could find a place to sample some of the local beers. She highly recommended The Bier Stein. I was totally impressed, and asked one of the bar keeps if I could take some pictures (which he let me) so I could show my friend back home in Ohio what a Bottle Shop was... I didn't count them all but the bar keep claimed they have over 1000 different beers... I enjoyed Oregon, the very friendly people of Eugene, and the great brew's I had at the Bier Stein...
